Hi guys,

2008 has been quite a year, with lots of news and changes, yet unfortunately accompanied by a lack of updates on the deviantart page...

First of all, I am stepping down as president this year (so this will be my last post as president). I'm glad to announce though that Lisa and John will be replacing me and Sam as the new president and vice president for PenCafe

To be honest, I was a bit apprehensive about passing on the presidency (my egotistical side wasn't sure if anyone could run the team as well as me and Sam did) but after seeing in them in action in the last few days, I believe my fears are unfounded and I believe our club will be in excellent hands

In addition, we've got a few sad news too. Our beloved committee members Teresa and Sam will be moving to Canberra and Melbourne respectively.

Our vice president is one of the founding members of PenCafe. If it wasn't for her involvement, PenCafe without a doubt not have survived and thrived the way it did. She did it all, drawing, teaching, organising the printing, getting everyone to get their stuff done on time, kick this lazy president's butt... everything. Even at the start, probably 80% of our members were people she knew and invited along...

too, has also been an awesome committee member. She was helping out with the committee a lot that it was actually silly that I took as long as I did to recommend her as a committee member... Her planning and organisational skills helped take PenCafe far (and helped us survive Japan ~nice!) and her insane marketing skills helped promote the club in events I didn't even know existed

Not to mention the patience these two had to put up with me. On behalf of this lazy president, I want to thank these two for catching the slack when I overlooked them (it was a lot of slack). Although it's sad that our club will be losing these two valuable members (and it's not the first time we lost our good friends to the east coast of Australia, with other members like and ), admittedly there are a lot more opportunities in the east, and with their amazing talents it would be selfish to the rest of Australia to keep them cooped up here in Perth

Thanks heaps you two, I would've been able to have run this club at this level without your help.

And hey, who knows, maybe we'll see PenCafe branches over Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney!

It's going to be an interesting and exciting year for us this year, so look forward to seeing us on Wai-con 2009!!!
